Course Aim:
This course is designed for people who have a strong working knowledge of Excel and Pivot Tables. On completion of this course, candidates will have the necessary skills to Clean and Transform Data before bringing it into Excel and work with Data sets that contain more then 1 million records using the Data Model. Power Query is a data connection technology that enables you to discover, connect, combine, and refine data sources to meet your analysis needs.
Power Pivot is a data modelling technology that lets you create data models, establish relationships, and create calculations. With Power Pivot you can work with large data sets, build extensive relationships, and create complex (or simple) calculations, all in a high-performance environment, and all within the familiar experience of Excel.
A calculated column is an extension of a table using a DAX formula that is evaluated for each row. These columns are distinguished from columns that you obtain from your data source or using Power Query Editor because calculated columns are computed based on data that has already been loaded into your data model. Measures, also known as measures in Power Pivot, are calculations used in data analysis. Examples commonly found in business reports include sums, averages, minimum or maximum values, counts, or more advanced calculations that you create using a Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) formula.
Key performance indicators (KPIs) are visual measures of performance. Based on a specific calculated field, a KPI is designed to help users quickly evaluate the current value and status of a metric against a defined target
